The first Canterbury Car was built in 1903 by the Canterbury Motor Car Company, around 35/40 were made, then in early 1905 production ended due to lack of money. in those days Canterbury Motor Car Company was also known as the Pavilion which was a exhibition hall, and held a motor show in March followed by the motor show in London in August each year. JNO. BIRCH@ CO.LTD exported two cars to New Zealand and the remains of them i think, are in INVERCARGILL the south island of New Zealand, i have photographs of them. But that is another story.
